Capitalism v.s socialism
To understand why I think capitalism is better than socialism we must first define each of them. Socialism: a theory or system of social organization, that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of production, distribution of capital, land, etc, in the community as a whole(everything owned by the government) , or in the Marxist theory : The stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivism principles. And capitalism: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market. Examples of countries ran by socialism are China, Cuba, the former, Soviet Union, and Venezuela. Examples of countries ran by capitalism, the home team of course. Ireland and Australia actually beat us out as more economically free countries from my research. To first get to my point of why capitalism is better, ask yourself witch of the countries I listed would you like to visit, or even live in, and under what category do they fall under. Economically all these countries are and were horrible, except parts of China that are economically freer than, even the U.S. With the economy out of the of all the countries I listed under the socialist category, they ether had, concentration camps (soviet union Josef Stalin), Citizens were mass murdered (China Mao). Where and when has thing like that every happend, in the U.S, Ireland, or Australia. though i know capitalism is breeding ground for greed, which economic stucture is'nt.

I think the reason Socialism has failed almost 100% of the time in countries that use it is because the leader/leaders of that country cannot handle the responsibility that come with it. On paper, Socialism doesn't sound too bad. Every one is treated equal, equal rights for all, no poverty. But the kicker is it's government controlled. If you could set up a government that wouldn't abuse such power, then you would have a economically strong nation. Unfortunately you are never going to be able to do such, at least I don't think so. That is why Capitalism is the better option.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think these countries are better to visit, Jake? What kinds of benefits does capitalism bring to the people? What do you think is the link between socialism and violence (as you suggested with the concentration camp example)?
